London for a few days a year at least will bake in the summer sun, luckily lately we’ve seen temperatures well into the 30’s. Although you’ll always find some Londoners complaining about the heat as they are easily flustered with the daily commute on overcrowded public transport. (Take an air conditioned Uber)!
I say embrace the moment and lap up these temperatures as much as possible, after all it never lasts!
This time of year for me is about spending as much time outdoors as I can whether it be a picnic in one of London’s many great parks that are moments from the doorstep to alfresco dining at some of my favourite hot spots in the city.
One stop I’ll always take time out for is The Secret Garden at Four Seasons Hotel. Decked out with one of my favourite Champagne brands Veuve Clicquot and garnished with some of the finest seasonal tapas in the Mayfair district what couldn’t be more ideal for a summer social.
Once again chef Eliano Crespi has created some mouthwatering dishes that compliment a glass of chilled champagne. My favourite had to be the chicken skewers with peanut sauce. Skewers and outdoor dining were made to go together! The calamari was also a perfect choice, seconds please!
The summer terrace is the perfect private escape from the busy surroundings of neighbouring parks. Here you’ll find calm, serenity and as always exceptional first class service from the team at Four Seasons.
So phone a friend, arrange a date and head for the Secret Garden this summer. Remember how limited the heatwaves are in London. Best be quick!
Until next time Four Seasons.
