Take luxury menswear and grooming, add a cocktail bar, lounge area with a light but fulfilling menu and you have the ultimate menswear emporium.
Fortnum & Mason has been a longtime favourite of mine, whether popping in for the tea and preserve run a cheeky macaroon (these are a must) or to top up on my grooming essentials.
Fortnums, well known for their luxury goods opens its doors to the newest space 3&6 Bar located on the menswear floor.
Laid with fine interiors and antique furnishings, attention to detail is way up there with all luxury expectations.
The story behind the new space is the Explorer theme as Fortnums once housed an expeditions department which catered for the extreme traveller. (History lessons included)
Some great brands can today be found in the new space with some exclusive pieces which are a worthwhile investment.
A fully stocked cocktail bar sits amongst leather seating in a relaxing but intimate space where you can sip on a classic Negroni or Bloody Mary for that morning after the night before scenario.
As you’d expect impeccably dressed hosts welcome, hang your coats and seat you to the sweet melodies of background music. The menu offering is light but hearty, I’d recommend the Steak Tartare and Three Cheese board.
To accompany the cheese board I went for a glass of Fortnums Tokaji, 2008, which together was a heavenly combination. Take a moment or two, sit back and absorb the flavours before the indulgence of anything else.
It’s hard to imagine the calm and serenity of this space which sits two floors above the bustling ground floor! My new hidden hideaway for sure.
You can’t visit and not sip on a cocktail, this time round opting for a Manhattan.
The dessert menu was a tough choice as I love Fortnums truffles but I decided to go for the raspberry trifle. With everything beautifully presented It took a moment before I started to devour this mouthwatering piece of art.
Be sure not to delay in paying a visit to this great addition in Fortnum & Mason’s menswear floor. View the full 3&6 Menu here.
