When it comes to hidden gems London has plenty to offer. I first discovered Pennethornes located in the New Wing of Somerset House sometime ago and I was instantly wowed by the moody but tasteful interior.
Shades of darkness with brass finishings, marble service tops and lighting to die for. (hello new work station)!
With an artisan menu Pennethornes offers breakfast for the early risers, lunch and most importantly a great setting for evening drinks.
For me finding good coffee around the city is quite important. I have many favourite spots I go to and getting to build a great rapport with the baristas of these fine establishments who are rather passionate about producing you the perfect cup is what makes me return.
When you have emails to tend to, schedules to plan and posts to produce a good cappuccino at Pennethornes makes everything much better.
Not only a good place for sociable cocktails, it’s also great to stop by for a good coffee, croissant and to get some work online done. For this i’d retreat to the drawing room, a quiet spot which is just adjacent to the main bar area.
So if your’e looking for your next cocktail hang out, caffeine fix or quiet spot then you best add Pennethornes to the top of your list.
